On the international stage, it coincides with the 80th anniversaries of the United Nations and UNESCO. The UN has introduced the &#8220;Quintet of Change&#8221; for UN 2.0, focusing on data, digital transformation, innovation, strategic foresight, and behavioural science. At the national level, China&#8217;s 14th Five-Year Plan has concluded successfully, while the grand blueprint of the 15th Five-Year Plan is set to unfold.\u00a0<\/p><p>This new plan emphasizes developing new quality productive forces as the core, aiming to build a modernized industrial system, pursue high-standard common prosperity, enable green transition, and enhance regional coordination. Within this framework, Hong Kong&#8217;s unique role under &#8220;One Country, Two Systems&#8221; becomes even more significant. The 15th Five-Year Plan charts a new course for national development and provides a clearer pathway for Hong Kong to integrate into the national development strategy and leverage its distinctive advantages.<\/p><p>At this pivotal time connecting past achievements with future endeavours, the Hong Kong Association for UNESCO (UHKA) and the Hong Kong Institute of Education for Sustainable Development (HiESD) remain steadfast in our core mission. In an era of rapid technological advancement, intensifying climate challenges, and profound reshaping of the global landscape, we are committed to rebuilding a harmonious relationship between humanity, technology, and nature through education, science and technology, culture, and communication.
