The award ceremony for the “2025 Biodiversity Space Exposed Seeds Nursery Project,” organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Education for Sustainable Development, was successfully held on October 4, 2025. Coinciding with the first day of the United Nations “World Space Week,” the event not only marked a significant collaboration in aerospace science education between Beijing and Hong Kong, but also celebrated the learning achievements of nearly 300 students from 30 primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong and Macau over the past six months in biodiversity and space exposed seeds planting.

“2025 Biodiversity Space-Exposed Seeds Nursery Programme” Launched to Celebrate the United Nations International Day of Human Space Flight

On 12 April 2025, the United Nations International Day of Human Space Flight, the “2025 Biodiversity Space-Exposed Seeds Nursery Programme” embarked on a new chapter. Nearly 300 students from 30 local primary and secondary schools received space-exposed seeds and will engage in six months of planting, observation, data recording, analysis, and multidimensional research to enhance interdisciplinary learning and practical skills. They will also prepare seed nomination reports to deepen their understanding of the value and significance of space-exposed seeds.
