Executive Diploma of Sustainable Financial Analyst

In response to the escalating global demand for sustainable finance, particularly following the advancements in climate-related financial disclosures and carbon accounting standards, the Sustainable Financial Analyst (SFA) Registration Scheme represents a pivotal step forward in equipping both financial and non-financial professionals to navigate the intersection of finance and sustainability.

Duration: 60 hours, including a 12-hour in-person training program and 48-hour self-paced online training modules

  2. Eligible to apply for the Sustainable Financial Analyst (SFA) Exam

Entry Requirements:

- Applicant with a first degree or equivalent who has acquired professional training in sustainable development planning or similar training

- Have at least 7 years of work experience

Course Completion Requirements:

 - Attend the classes, complete the SDGCampus self-paced learning modules and all class exercises

HiESD self-learning online resources, SDGCAMPUS, will offer twenty-one (21) different topics of sustainable development. The candidates are required to choose among these topics and complete at least 48 hours of self-paced learning mode.

Q. What if my background is not in sustainability or I lack sufficient work experience? Can I still enroll in this course?
A. Yes, our bridging modules cover fundamentals, and the institute may exercise discretion based on individual circumstances.

Q. How are course assessments conducted?
A. Assessments include workshops, class discussions, and case studies, designed to foster practical skills in sustainability.

Q. What happens if I miss a class?
A. Lesson notes will be uploaded to the online platform after each class. However, students must meet the 80% attendance requirement for certification.

Q. Is the course available in multiple languages?
A. The course is primarily taught in Cantonese, with English as a supplementary language for support.

Fees, Funding, and Payments

Q. Is reimbursement available for this course?

A. The fee includes tuition, access to online learning platforms, self-study resources, and certification upon completion.

Q. How can I pay the course fees?
A. Payments can be made online via bank transfer, online banking, or PayMe. Full details are provided upon enrollment.

Q. Are payment plans available?
A. No, full payment must be made at least three working days before the course starts.

Q. Can I get a refund if I withdraw?
A. Fees are non-refundable unless the course is full, postponed, or canceled by HiESD.

Q. Can I defer my enrollment?
A. Deferral is not permitted without a valid reason, as determined by institute.

Q. Can I switch programmes mid-way?
A. No, programme changes are only permitted with written notice to institute at least three working days before the course starts, with any fee differences settled.

Q. What happens if the course is canceled?
A. The course will be rescheduled, and affected students will be notified via email.

1. The information will be handed over to the relevant parties if necessary. You have the right to request access to and correction of any information provided by you. If you do not provide your personal ID number, the Institute will not issue a course certificate and any proof of course taken. (Our Programme team will ask for your ID number when your enrollment is confirmed.)
2. The School will send urgent messages to students via Short Message Services (SMS) and supplement by other means such as email (if the need arises). It is therefore important that the mobile phone number and email address that the applicant provides are accurate. Any change should be reported to the School immediately. Those who have genuine difficulty in receiving urgent messages via SMS should contact the programme teams for separate arrangements.
3. Upon the registration in the programme, the student’s data will become part of the student record and may be used and processed for all lawful purposes relating to the academic and/or non-academic activities in accordance with the established policy of the Institute and the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap.486).
1. Acceptance is subject to the discretion of the Institute.
2. Applicants are expected to attend the course based on the timetable specified in the brochure unless otherwise notified.
3. When a programme is over-subscribed, additional classes may be arranged in some cases. Applicants will then be notified of the arrangements when necessary.
4. Fees paid are not refundable unless the Course is full or postponed or cancelled.
5. No classes will be held when storm warning signal No. 8 or above/Black Rainstorm Warning is in force. In that case, an alternative class will be arranged. (Classes will resume if No. 8/Black Rainstorm Warning is lowered before 3:00 pm for evening classes, 12:00 noon for afternoon classes and 7:00 am for morning classes.)
