The UNESCO WH & ICH Tutor Training Programme (non-teachers)

The second cohort

Course Introduction

World Heritage Education is an interdisciplinary educational program with the core values of respecting cultural diversity, inheriting and developing national culture, enhancing awareness of environmental protection and sustainable development, and promoting harmonious development of the international community. Under the three-dimensional teaching objectives of "knowledge, values and attitudes, and abilities", it involves multiple disciplines such as language and literature, history, art, geography, archaeology, architecture, science, and information technology.

“The UNESCO WH & ICH Tutor Training Programme (non-teachers)” aims to assist professional organisations and instructors who run intangible cultural heritage-related study and research activities and projects to integrate the all-round transformative education model of sustainable development education into world heritage education, encourage students to actively participate in in-depth, lively and interesting study and research activities, strengthen innovation and collaboration, focus on problem solving and interdisciplinary learning, so that Hong Kong youth can understand, study, protect and inherit world heritage and intangible cultural heritage.

The training programme is organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Education for Sustainable Development, integrating expert lectures and field visits. Tutors who have completed the course and passed the assessment can join the Hong Kong Institute of Education for Sustainable Development's recognized "Certified World Heritage and Intangible Cultural Heritage School Partnership Program".
